Procurement & Inventory Manager

Location : Colombo

Our client, a leading multinational organization with a strong global footprint, is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to lead their Procurement, Logistics, and Inventory Management operations for the Sri Lankan region.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with global central teams, manage end-to-end regional supply chain functions, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demand Planning & MRP: Collaborate closely with the local sales team to analyze forecasted figures and prepare consolidated projections for Material Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Regional Procurement & Inventory: Drive efficient inventory management and procurement strategies for the Sri Lankan region, continuously optimizing internal processes to align with departmental requirements.
  • Regulatory & Customs Compliance: Build and sustain strong relationships with import controllers, customs officials, and relevant statutory authorities. Ensure strict adherence to all local Import/Export regulatory requirements and orders.
  • Logistics & Vendor Management: Partner with and manage strategic relationships with Custom House Agents (CHA), Freight Forwarders, and bonded warehouse facilities.
  • Global Coordination & Systems: Oversee tracking, shipment status documentation, and purchased articles in coordination with Global Suppliers and the Central Purchase Team. Maintain absolute data accuracy within SAP.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or a related discipline. A Master’s qualification (MBA / MSc) will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of solid, progressive experience in a procurement or supply chain managerial role.
  • Technical Skills: Prior hands-on experience working with SAP is mandatory.
  • Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge and expertise in local Sri Lankan customs laws, import/export regulations, and related statutory policies.
  • Leadership & Attributes: Strong team management skills with a proven track record. Highly resourceful, self-driven, proactive, and capable of operating as an independent worker.
