
Legal Associate Role (Australian Law Focus)
Location: Colombo – Sri Lanka (Office-based, Full-time)
A specialist Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) firm in Sri Lanka is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Legal Associate. This is an exceptional opportunity for recent LLB graduates to support an overseas law firm specializing in key areas of Australian law, including migration and property matters.
Core Functions & Responsibilities
This full-time, in-office role involves working closely with experienced legal professionals to manage and execute core legal support tasks.
- Case and Document Management: Assist senior lawyers in drafting legal documents, conducting thorough legal research on relevant updates (especially migration law), and preparing comprehensive case files.
- Migration Process Support: Prepare applications and other necessary submissions to the relevant government authority. This includes liaison with authorities and follow up on processing matters to help clients achieve their goals.
- Client Interaction and Administration: Serve as a key point of contact by communicating with clients, assisting with managing inquiries, and coordinating client consultations. Ensure the accuracy of documentation and assist with general record-keeping and administrative tasks.
- Property Transaction Support: Provide assistance with conveyancing procedures, including preparing relevant documentation and assisting in the review of property documents.
Candidate Profile (Key Attributes)
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates the following essential attributes:
- Educational Foundation: Completed a minimum of an LLB qualification in Sri Lanka.
- Legal Acumen: Possesses excellent research and legal drafting capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Area of Interest: Has a strong declared interest in Australian migration law and a basic knowledge of property law procedures.
- Work Ethic: Shows a willingness to learn and adapt, with the ability to function effectively both independently and within a team.
- Experience (Desirable): Some prior experience in a legal environment is preferred (e.g., internships, up to 6 months).
