Job Profile: Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join the team at our client’s Manufacturing Plant in Horana. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial precision and cost control within the plant’s daily operations.
Key duties include:
- 💰 Standard Costing & Analysis: Performing Standard Costing (STD) and conducting detailed variance analysis to identify areas for efficiency.
- 📊 Budgetary Control: Preparation of plant expense budgets and maintaining comprehensive budgetary control measures.
- 📈 Production Monitoring: Monitoring and reporting on material and activity utilization within the monthly production process.
- 📝 Reporting: Preparing financial management reports specifically tailored for manufacturing plant performance.
- 🔗 Inventory Optimization: Coordinating with procurement staff to optimize raw and packing material inventory levels.
- 🔧 Cost Management: Taking ownership of overall plant cost management and internal controls.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess a strong background in industrial accounting.
Experience (Essential):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working specifically within the accounting function of a manufacturing context.
- Proven track record of working with plant-related financials.
Professional Qualifications:
- Part-qualified (or fully qualified) in a recognized professional accounting body.
- A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a bonus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in STD costing and related reporting.
- High level of attention to detail and analytical capability.
Advantage:
- Familiarity with the ERP SAP PP module will be considered a distinct advantage.
